Volunteer

When you volunteer with Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity, you become an integral part of someone's life. Stable housing is the foundation for a healthy life. Volunteering empowers people to become successful homeowners and vital members of the community. No construction skills are needed!  We give you a "doable" task and help you have fun learning on the job!

Volunteer Opportunities

Pride Build Week demonstrates our commitment to inclusivity.  🏳️‍🌈

During Pride Month, Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area hosts a week of building and community spirit, but we accept Pride volunteer groups throughout the year.  Whether you're a seasoned builder or a first-time volunteer, your help is welcome and appreciated. In 2024, Pride Build put finishing touches on our Field of Dreams community in Kearns.

🔨No experience is necessary – we teach you everything you'll need to know to complete your tasks. Pride Build Week is a fabulous way to involve your friends and family in doing work with a lasting impact. And, if you participate on your own, don’t worry – you’ll make plenty of new friends in a welcoming and fun atmosphere.

Habitat for Humanity may work around the corner from you, but we also work around the world. Through our Global Village program, you’ll expand the breadth and depth of your understanding of Habitat’s work while experiencing the culture and everyday life of another country. Our volunteer trips offer more than just the opportunity to swing a hammer. When you travel and volunteer with Global Village, you’ll experience the country like a local, with the locals. Meet people from around the world with all different kinds of backgrounds, races, and religions.

Spending time with other cultures gives us the opportunity to discover our commonalities. You’ll find that you don’t even need to speak the language.

The Global Village program took a hiatus during the pandemic and is slowly resuming region by region, with a focus on maintaining the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, partners, and the people we serve.  Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area will announce our next Global Village opportunity in our newsletter and on social media, so stay tuned!  (Sign up for our newsletter below)

Our past trims include Nepal, India and Guatemala.
