Our Truck Drivers are the face of Habitat for Humanity Greater Salt Lake Area in the community. You will collect donated items from people's homes and businesses and transport them to the Salt Lake ReStore. Local driving only; no CDL is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive our box truck to collect donated items from local homes and businesses.
- Screen items for eligibility.
- Carefully load items in the truck, deliver to the ReStore, and unload.
- Assist at the donation dock throughout the day.
- Keep the donation dock area clean and organized.
- Communicate with the ReStore Manager regarding incoming donations.
- Occasionally supervise volunteers, making their experience meaningful.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with ReStore staff, volunteers, Habitat homeowners, and ReStore customers.
- Other Duties as Assigned by the ReStore Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Good listening skills and ability to engage in well-considered discussions.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to spend the majority of the day standing or moving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of six months of work experience.
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in a box truck, at donor locations and at a retail/warehouse environment.
- Work may require climbing ladders, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching awkward and tiring positions.
- The ReStore is open Tuesday through Saturday.
Employee Status: Non-exempt, hourly at 40 hours per week
Starting wage: $18/hour
