A woman hands a set of house keys to a mother and daughter.
Habitat Salt Lake Family Services Committee Member Martha Wunderli hands the house keys to Dajana.

Mother and daughter receive the keys to their new Habitat home.

Dajana and her daughter will be moving into their new Habitat home! Dajana was born in Yugoslavia and came to the U.S. when she was seven to escape war.  She said, "The war deeply affected us and changed our lives forever." She eventually married her high school sweetheart, and they had a daughter. The couple longed to own a home of their own.  Sadly, Dajana's husband died about a year ago, and she thought that dream would never come true.  She commented, "We want to thank God first and this wonderful program that allowed us to purchase our own home where we can grow as a family. Habitat has made home buying a magical experience for us. I've met so many amazing people along this journey.  Habitat staff and all the volunteers have left a huge mark on our hearts. ”
